Letter E Song

The letter E is the king! In English (and indeed in many languages), ‘e’ is used more than any other letter. In fact, about one out of every eight letters used in English is an ‘e’.

This letter E song introduces the most basic pronunciation of E – the sound heard at the start of ‘egg’ and ‘elbow’. We have deliberately avoided using words such as ‘East’, ‘effect’ and ‘eel’ where the leading e has a different pronunciation.

As with all of our phonics songs, this one has a catchy rap beat, the lyrics are simple and rhyme and the pictures are simple and colorful.

Songs that teach kids their abc are a fun way to introduce them to reading. A lifelong love of reading is one of the keys to educational success – and one of the best ways to achieve this is to ensure any activity with reading is fun and pressure free!
